At Pesce we take time to smell the roses. It reinvigorates our creativity and keeps us sane. And just because we are always cooking and serving great seafood doesn't mean we can't appreciate our namesake in other forms as well.

Which brings us to Gyotaku. Gotaku is the traditional Japanese art of painting fish with actual fish.

This was an art form born before the advent of modern photography. It was a way to record prize catches especially revered catches that were released back into the wild.

Here's a TED talk that explains the artform and it's inception.

Today there's a revival of the art form. Artist Naoki shows how he creates beautiful artwork of fish from real fish.
